Vielen Dank                                         - Thank You


Wenn ich gesagt habe, dass 'bin ich unzulänglich'?  - When I said 'am I inadequate?'
Sie haben gesagt 'nein, Sie sind nicht'             - You said 'no, you are not'
Das war sehr wichtig für mich                       - That was very important to me
Und stellt ein schwach Lächeln auf mein Gesicht     - And put a faint smile on my face

Vielen Dank                                         - Thank You

Ich will meinen Ängsten gegenüberstehen             - I want to face my fears
Aber ich kann es allein nicht machen                - But I can't do it alone
Zu einem besseren Ort werde ich gehen               - To a better place, I will go
Wo aller mein Schmerz krachen                       - Where all my pain crashes

Vielen Dank                                         - Thank You

Ich schulde viel sie                                - I owe a lot to you
Sie haben angefangen, mich durchzuziehen            - You started to pull me through
Ich werde nie dies vergessen... Nie                 - I will never forget this... never
Schließlich werde ich können fliegen                - Eventually I will be able to fly

Wie kann ich Ihre Freundlichkeit zurückzahlen?      - How can I repay your kindness?
Und macht das gleiche für Sie?                      - And do the same for you?
Wenn Sie begegnen Gefahren                          - If you run into dangers
Ich werde hilfe sie                                 - I will help you

YaY! I saw the titles and thought "Oh god, I'mma have to learn German [That is German, right? Lol.]" But then there's English right next to it! Squee! :bounce:

That's a beautiful poem. Reading it actually added some new words to my small vocabulary in German. :)

But I couldn't help but notice that you use "Sie" (which always needs capitalization when used in the 2nd person, because "sie" without capitalization can mean "they" or "she"), a more formal way to address people, instead of "du". Could I ask why? Hope you don't find me nosy or something to be inquiring at that, it's just that I'm very interested in German and want to understand it as much as possible!
